“Open Enrollment is a chance for everybody in the United States that is 65 years or older, they can explore their Medicare options,” explains HealthShare360 Medicare Advisor Velnrina Ayala. “The significance of Open Enrollment, sometimes called Annual Enrollment Period, is that patients have a great chance to explore their options. All types of plans, anywhere from October 15th through December 7th.”
Medicare plans make changes every year. Things like cost, coverage, and what providers and pharmacies are in-network. October 15 to December 7 is when everyone with Medicare can change their health plans and prescription drug coverage to better meet their needs.
“There's so much information to know about Medicare,” admits Ayala. “And when the Open Enrollment Period comes, and everybody in America has to make a decision, we strongly tell you that there is a Medicare plan for you. Find the right trusted source and explore those options.”
